New film: From Prada to Nada

The ensemble cast for the English language adaptation From Prada to Nada has been announced, and it’s filled with a who’s who of Latin American actors. The film will be a collaboration between Lionsgate, Videocine and Odd Entertainment, that will add a Latina twist to the classic Jane Austen novel, Sense and Sensibility.

Camilla Belle, Kuno Becker, Alexa Vega, and Wilmer Valderrama have been cast in romantic comedy "From Prada to Nada," a contempo Latino version of Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility."

Odd Lot Entertainment, Lionsgate and Mexico-based Videocine are production, financing and distribution partners on the English-language project. Odd Lot's Gigi Pritzker and Linda McDonough will produce, along with Rossana Arau and Gary Gilbert.

Fina Torres ("Woman on Top") is directing from a script she co-wrote with Luis Alfaro. Story follows two spoiled sisters who are left penniless after the sudden death of their father and are forced to move in with their estranged aunt in East Los Angeles.

Lionsgate will distribute in North America and Odd Lot Intl. will handle sales in foreign territories at the upcoming AFM.
